Environment Open Water Diver: This is an introductory scuba course including pool and class sessions, textbook, dive tables, log book and certification dives, rental gear $40 additional. Once certified, students receive a NAUI or YMCA lifetime open water scuba certification. Our standards are a bit higher than many of the other organizations currently certifying scuba divers. We spend more time with the students and cover more topics than are generally taught. Classes meet for three weeks: three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (or you can opt for our weekend class that meets three consecutive Saturdays from 9am to about 5pm.) We take a 100 question written exam. These are followed by 4 certification dives over a period of two days at the Rolesville Rock Quarry, unless students want to make other arrangements to dive with us at the coast of NC, in Florida, or the Carribean (at additional cost.) Classes form once a month. We meet from 6pm until 9:30pm. Classes fill well in advance, so if you have a particular time frame that you wish to work in, please sign up early. A $50.00 deposit will hold your place and is refundable until 2 weeks before class begins. We also offer private lessons for $400. Classroom sessions are held at Bill's Scuba located off of Six Forks at the Newton Shopping Center on Newton Road. Pool sessions are held at the A.E. Finley YMCA on Baileywick Rd. in North Raleigh (a 5 minute drive from the shop.) Junior certification may be obtained for students 12 through 14 years old. Junior certs may only dive with a certified parent or guardian. Open Water Certification is available for students 15 years and older. The course fee of $350 covers everything except transportation & rental gear. Payment can be made by cash, check, visa or mastercard. --> Assignments List
